In today's world, what privilege do girls enjoy that boys don't?
No, not getting full marks even after writing A implies B, so B implies A.
But getting messages and orkut scraps which read
'hi. h r u u i wan frenz u. pl riply '. Just wish I had this privilege, so that I could reply 'I want to, but I cannot possibly frenz you'. I mean, there was this girl in yahoo, who would always, every single time start the conversation with 'hi. h r u?' In what way does it make her job easier, I do not understand. For all she knows, someone might as well interpret it as 'Haraami, are you?' And tell her foff hoping she understood what that meant. I do not intend to hurt, or mock at anyone who doesn't know, or it not proficient in English. It's about those who can write perfectly, still resort to 'k.ta. thnkq', instead of a word more 'Ok, thanks.Tata'. In a mobile (read sms) it's at least understandable, especially for people like me, whose thumb much to the irritation covers 4 keys, and a 'this' becomes a 'tits'. It adds to the comfort using a 'u' instead of a 'you'. But using fyne for fine, that too on a comp, as my friend D does, is surely a different case.
The one other thing that pisses me off in this is the convenient use and insertion of numbers. hi. 4m wer r u. gr8 to meet u . Why the hell do you want numbers to communicate or get a point across, when you have a zillion words? (Of course there are exceptions where numbers describe a situation very efficiently, like 'Hey, how was it yesterday?' can get a reply 'Was a 69').
I just don't get the rationale, if there's any. If people do it just for the pseud value, and feel that doing so makes them look cool, they're statistically stupid. (Yeah, I've done too much of stats last sem, I needed to use it somewhere). Of course, people change only when they have a self realization. Not that all this is wrong, it's just that I'm personally irritated, and blogger's been very nice to listen to me.
And yeah, if you're chronically affected by this, you'll probably end up typing a disastrous statement like 'b4 u cum here, i ll cum there', which can make/break relationships forever.

I'm very supportive of your opinion here. I've been very badly pained by the degradation of language by use of unwanted, supposedly pseud-putting chat lingo. Another thing is the usage of leet(1337) and rAndOm caPItaL LEtterS. Then there is the totally unnecessary usage of linguistic symbols where not necessary - like usage of letters with umlauts and tildes or other phonetic symbols. I have absolutely no idea how this can appeal to anyone. The idea of using short forms is pathetic unless it is for specific reasons like in SMS where there is a character limit per message.
Aren't there more people of this opinion?
hehehe!! roger ur ENTIRE post!!! :D
have had pretty much the same experience with me going "huh??!" every second line!! :P
'Roger'
What's that?!
'Huh' is fine!
Roger means agree da... like the flight pilots do to Air-Traffic Control-
Flight 324, cleared for Take-off.
Roger that, O'Hare :)

Spnk mn,
5naly ur back!
Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one !!!11one11! lolz
Seriously, anyone who expects me to understand words gr8 (or, much worse, ne1) is insulting me to a degree I can't even describe. "People do not ordinarily read each letter in a word individually — except in a relatively rare condition following brain injury known as letter-by-letter reading" says ; so it means most people around here brain-damaged.
Seriously, who above the age of five reads one letter at a time, anyway? Even if I'm learning a new language I'll certainly be reading whole words together (at least) in at most a month.
The saddest fact is that there exist people who think this retarded babble is "the langauge of the internet" and consciously change all instances of "you" to "u", etc. (after typing it in full!)
When I see "Ur", I think of Ur. If you expect me to read it letter-by-letter to mean "you are", &hellip...
If I keep going, I'll probably end up with something several pages long, so I'll just say plz rite prply k plz thx.

Oh crap, blogger's HTML parsing is screwed. I should have logged in; now I can't even delete posts :(
very nice...kind of a coincidence, but I wrote about the same thing too in my post...
I'm supporting your opinion dude... I also admit I type like that too... I was of the opinion that SMS lingo jus helps us save time... but it is not so comfortable read them. In fact in my blog I try my best not to use short forms and chat languages. Liked your post.
vatsa
What was the last line?
'Please write properly okay? Please thanks?!'
And ya,Ur! he hee.
