I discovered so many things I want to do in my life
1. Be a strategy consultant for a while.
2. Spend 2-3 years doing research in Organic Chemistry.
3. Spend 2-4 years researching in Electrodynamics.
4. Teach students for JEE.
5. Invent some new kinematic mechanism.
6. Start a school
7. Work in the investment banking sector for a few years.
8. MBA from Harvard.
Is this possible?
I don't think so. So, lets forget it.

Why do you think it's not possible? A Harvard MBA takes two years (pardon my ignorance; CMIIW). Starting a school should probably take an year or two. Assuming even the 3+4 years of "research" (BTW, do you really want to do research or are you just interested and would like to read a lot? The latter can even be done in "spare time" of a few hours a day. Then again, so can research!), and putting both "a while" and "a few years" as 3 years (it would take far less for me to get bored ;-)) this takes 17 years, and leaves more than 60 years to teach and invent. Shouldn't be impossible at all.
Oh, and you can always live vicariously -- help someone start a school...

The time to reach there and sustain after that is what will take most of it!

Bad analogy. An Olympic record needs a lot of preparation, and the goal is something that quite possibly is unattainable.
OTOH, a goal like "work in $field for a few years" needs no preparation (not much, anyway. Again, CMIIW), and all that one has to do to attain the goal is avoid losing the job.
Similarly for "spend $n years doing $thing". If the goal is only to spend so much time, and is not based on results, then it shouldn't take more than that much time.
The MBA consists of two steps — getting admission, and not getting kicked out before the two years are over. AFAICT, the former is harder than the latter, but it should still be doable. In any case, it's something you can spend a few years of your life trying, and won't take long.
The only one of your tasks that's comparable to an Olympic record is "invent...". That I agree is hard; which is why I left 60 years for it :-)

Yes. So does getting into Harvard! There are less than 20 Indians who get into harvard each year! Of course I'm not saying getting into harvard is as tough as getting an olympic medal. For an average Indian engineering student, a LOT of effort goes in to get into Harvard. An average of five years work experience in a good MNC. And to get placed in a good MNC itself is pretty difficult (Please dont bring in Infosys and TCS as multinationals!). As far as working in the Investment banking sector goes, you need to be an MBA to work in a finance division, but to get a good MBA you need to work at a good place. It's really the case of the chicken and the egg.
Spending $ years doing $, of course I meant I want to get results! If nothing substantial comes out in $ years, I might have to do it for $ or $ + % years more! :-)
Inventing, umm, it's not very hard, otherwise I wouldn't have put it in the first place (Otherwise I would've added a few others like 'Get the Nobel').

I agree; of course I wasn't trying to say that getting into Harvard is easy. I didn't know that they expect you to have already worked before joining there... you're right; it's stupid and a chicken-egg problem.
But there is still the issue of how many years it will take... will you still be trying to get a Harvard MBA at 40? At 50? There is only a finite amount of time it will take, and the rest of your life is free for...
Um, nevermind. I've understood the implications now; the real world is certainly a more messy place than the academic world. Too messy. Too real.
There is also the fact that these aren't your only goals. You also want to do something with your life, presumably. If this was all, then I still think it would be possible to at least give each of them a try.
Otherwise, one needs to "prioritise" (ugh!).

Thought a lot about all this. Myself going through a very similar and maybe on a much more bigger scale. Some how the comments and the discussions seem to have taken a feasibility shape. I expected it to be more on the philosophical side...
all I have decided is, its T for me to know more and I shall take life as it comes...
